Hi Pamela, Kind of a round about way of finding you; looking at down/feather images on the internet. Am interested in any Ticking you may want to part with for my down pillows. I've only begun to look at your comments and am not too good at finding my way around the sites but I have an e-mail address if you'd like to talk about what you may have. I'd love to hear from you and I'll keep reading. I like Lisa. My business name is "Abbey Downs" after my white Manz kitty. I opened a feather bed in my garage years ago; trying to salvage the feathers (lost cause). Abbey took over one pile. The only way I could see her was when she'd raise her head and open her eyes. Don't know how she could breath but loved to sleep in it. Needless to say,,feather bedding is not a good choice for recycling other than it makes great compost material!
More later. Reading some more.

Hi again from Carolyn @ greengoosedown. I've branched out from hand made down bed pillows to making sweather pillows and collecting vintage tickings. Some are out of my price range but I find some really nice tickings for a reasonable price. I traded two king european down pillows for a Hungarian down, 600 fill wt., comforter. It had been stored in a plastic bag which had been taped. A section had been taped and couldn't be removed from the fabric so I took the down out, cleaned and fillen new ticking with it. Incredible down! Also the original comforter ticking is Egyptian cotton which I have salvaged most of for ticking. It's addictive! So..I'm getting ready for a new down room and new ideas as to containing the down from invading the whole room. Plastic sheeting makes a nice corral for it. It's easy to hang, clean and down dosn't stick to it.

Hi, Sounds like you'r getting the kinks ironed out of recycling down/feathers. I've been making down pillows for over 35 yrs. Just for my own use, gifts and now I've begun a cottage industry. It's a great way to make a wonderful product and save some waterfowl. I have purchased bulk and prefer buying from a company that harvests down from live geese. I'd like to hear from you if you have some time to share experiences, ie: pillows breaking in the washer & dryer.

Best of luck with your pillows.
