That list is alphabetical so that no one thinks it is the order of “My Favorite Things,” which is the theme for this weeks Pink Friday. This should be an easy week to pick items, but it hasn’t been. From thirty years of buying and selling, I know all too well that the things that I sometimes fall absolutely in love with are not always the easiest to sell.
Sometimes I think that may be the result of my knowing a lot about the things that have the most attraction for me, those things I have spent years trying to learn alot about. For example, I may be willing to overlook certain flaws in something because it is a rare example of that type of item. That is certainly true of my first item for this week.
I’ll be offering a fabulous Cottage and Garden Girl Dresser Scarf with Chair Back Cover (that’s it in the photo above). There are flaws, but the lovliness of the scene and the exquisite embroidery far outweigh the flaws in my eyes.

Gah, I have the same problem. I just can not resist things I love either and it seems like most people just don’t appreciate them. I think of the work that went into embroidery, tatting, crochet etc. and the hands that made them, I think of the life that woman had and the home she made for her family. Others just see a piece of cloth, sigh.
As for the aluminum, I did very well selling it to other antique dealers. I only kept a few pieces LOL.
